Butterflies flew and circled flowers of many late blooming flowers. Before long the forests would be bare, even now the leaves were changing at the tips. One scarlet colored butterfly left to flutter past a girl. Her blue eyes watched it pass, as her lips let out a slight giggle. She sat in a small field of grass, it was the only clearing this big she had found in the forest so far. Brushing blond hair from her face, she giggled again and glanced for a moment at her shadow. 'He is no fun.' She thought to herself, and knowing that he heard she quickly stuck out her tongue as well. Of course he would not respond...no he only spoke when he thought he had too. Bringing her arms around her legs she glanced up at the passing clouds. Zenfar said they could not kill today, that they had to stay in the forest until the search for them was over, but for Ellesiss this meant only boredom for the entire day and longer.

Shenna growled and snapped at a bluebird that had dared come to near to her nostrils. The little bird uttered a trill of fright and flittered away. Shenna shook her head, and the few fallen leaves that had settled there lifted of and swun gracefully to the forest floor. She lifted her head again, straining her ears as she was doing before the bluebird interupted her. But this time, she could here the faint, lilting laughter of an elf. Hmmm.... elves were bipeds, and they were not on friendly terms with the dwarves, so this elf could mean a potential meal. Grinning visiously, Shenna leapt up into the tallest tree around her, carefully climbing it in a way that her talons or scales would not score the bark and tell her prey where she was. That was the thing about hunting creatures that could think... they were so darn hard to ambush!
She reached the top of the tree, where the foliage was heavy, and her mottled body blended perfectly. There were few branches below her, so she could easily jump down ontop of anything that walked by. She narrowedher bright eye, concealing them even more, and crouched perfectly still, not a single muscle in her entire body moving. Now she would wait.....

Ellesiss let out a sigh. "There is no way I am going to wait here all day." She told her shadow before jumping to her feet and walking into the forest. Of course her shadow did not answer... Any normal creature would have crunched leaves with each step, but elves were too light for that. An elf could even walk on snow if they pleased. Her bright eyes glanced around with amusement. Light was streaming in through the leaves above, showing the dust settling like little dancers. A rabbit had sat in the distance, nibbling at a bush, but ran at the sight of Ellesiss. Ellesiss frowned as she walked under a particularly large tree. Something did not seem right....

Silently, Shenna leapt down, her wing tips opened slightly to balance and direct her fall. She opened her maw and extended her claws, aiming for the elf that had finally stepped within her pouncing range. This whole time, she did not so much as make any noise, other than the occasional snap of a twig that her waving tale made as she fell. Soon she would have her meal...
OOC: Sorry for the short post, but I want to wait for you to determine how she does this....

((Allright...hmmm...*thinking pose*))
Ellesiss had taken no more than a step further when large claws pushed her onto the ground and held her there. At first the only emotion that showed on her face was surprise...but that strangely changed to amusement. "Hello dragon!" She said cheerfully, despite the circumstances. "Could you let me up please? If not I might have to kill you." Her smile was all innocent, her tone was the same. The only thing of evil to give her away was her shadow that that twitched impatiently even though her body remained still.
((I hope that works. I think my brain decided to go to bed early.))

((Perfect. I was almost afraid that I would have to use her fire... ) Shenna pinned the elf there, and even though the elf was within her grasps, she did not pinch down and pierce her heart. Instead, she let out a hearty lugh, lifting her head hight as the peals rolled off her forked tongue. "Well then Elf, you have succeeded to become the first of my prey to amuse me so much that I can not eat you. You must have a nack." She lifted her giant claws, and pulled the elf to her feet roughly. "I am curious to know though, and I think you owe me this much considering I let you stay outside my gullet; how exactly would you have managed to kill me if I had you pinned down to the ground, compleatly covering your body?" She was slightly amused by the she-elf, but she was also very interested to know if this elf could have actually caused her harm had she not let her up...

Ellesiss tilted her head, as if expecting it to be obvious. "Well my shadow would kill you of course." She did not struggle even the slightest bit, not even a shred of fear showed in her eyes.
Ellesiss brushed dirt from her clothing and spoke without looking up. "Yes, you pinned me so I could not draw my sword, so my shadow would have to kill you." Ellesiss giggled slightly before looking up.
"So tell me, dragon, how far is the next town? I am not allowed to stay in the nearest one anymore...and I do not prefer taking hunt on forest creatures." Yes, that was true, though they were more of Zenfar's words than her own. He figured that they might as well kill the largest and most dangerous race in numbers first.

Shenna stared at the elf, and thingyed her head. It was an almost cat-like gesture, but not so comical when the creature thingying has a square maw filled with rows of dagger-like teeth.
"Your shadow would have killed me? What a dedicated shadow you must have. All mine ever does is give me away to my prey when I fly with the sun above me." She shook her head, sending a shower of fine scale-dust carrening to the floor. It was almost time for her to molt.
"The nearest town eh? Its not for a while. Maybe a half-hour travel for me, but I can fly. Walking it would probably take a while. But you will have to go Northwest. The town there has some promising prey... if you like that kind of dirty city dwelling meat." She scrunched her nose at the thought, thinking of the time she had made a raid in the village. She had a terrible aftertaste in her mouth for a week, and no amount of spring water would get rid of it.
"So how would your shadow have killed me? Would I have seen the attack?" She was asking this out of pure curiosity, for she had never seen nor heard of a living shadow. It was a new kind of attack, and aparently a threat to her. She would have to learn more about it.

Ellesiss crossed her arms at the news. It would be a quick journey to the next town at her normal pace, but if it were that close then they could have already had been warned of her by someone on horse back. Not that it mattered. Ellesiss and her "Shadow" were not creatures easily caught.
"You might, especially now that you might be expecting it. You see, my shadow is mostly human, but he does not like to be seen by others, so he remains a shadow until he is needed to fight. He can not fight while he is hidden." Most people would have thought that that was letting out allot of information, but then again most people thought that Zenfar having to come out of the shadows was a weakness. In reality, the times when he comes out are the times when a person should fear the most. Zenfar, like Ellesiss, did not kill because they held grudges, but simply for fun. "When he comes out of the shadows he uses his twin swords to attack, and so far we have not come across anyone who could match us." She said in her innocent, child like, tone. Thinking of what fun they had been having so far.
((I hope that made sense))

((yup, I get it))
Shenna nodded, her curiosity for the elf growing. She actually found herself liking the bi-ped. She was not like most elves, and definatly not like a human, so she was tolerable. And anyone who had a mastery over there shadow was just plain awesome. Shenna looked at her own emence shadow, wishing fervently that another dragon could come out of it, attacking in her aid whenever she nneded it. Then she could get those humans.
"What is your name, Master of Shadows?" She asked.
((We need something exciting to happen. Do you want the guy on the horse to come, and between the three ofthem, theycould figfht him off?))

((Sure why not, and maybe he could have powers or something so it would not be too easy?))
Ellesiss tilted her head and let out a child like giggle. "Master of shadows? No, that would be Zenfar if anyone." She motioned to the shadow. "My name is Ellesiss." She said, smiling. "And you? What is your name?" With her memory, unless the dragon gave her a reason too, she would probably forget the name within the next few days. Ellesiss had problems remembering those who did not prove themselves to be a worthy opponent, but she was still partially interested in the dragons name.
Her keen ears were, at the moment, waiting for a reply, when something else caught her attention. It sounded like horse hooves, someone was coming. If she were lucky the horseman would miss them, but she was not lucky and it would be hard to miss the large dragon. Besides, it would be no fun for Ellesiss if she was missed.

((Sorry this took so long, I've been lazy lately...))
Shenna percked her ears foreward at the sound of aproaching hooves, and almost seconds later, the undergroatgh burst open as a pure white steed and a knight rode in, stomping and fuming.
"You there!" He shouted, "You are under arrest by order of His Magesty the King, Lord Aric Summers! Come quietly now and we will not be forsed to harm you!" At that moment, he noticed Shenna, and was startled slightly, but kept his composure. "And you, Dragon, I have no quarrel with your kind. Leave in peace, and let me take this woman into custody!" His voise never lowered in pitch, and Shenna was rapidly becoming annoyed with him.
"Well, you may not have a quarrel with my kind, but I have a quarrel with your kind, so I am not going to leave, and you will not leave this forest alive. I have vowed to take my revenge on any man I see. You can thank your captain for that..." She raised her head and beat her wings, issuing a roar that thundered across the forest.
Swiftly, she spun around, her tail gaining momentum as the deadly twin blades rushed toward the man's plated midrift.
She heard a sharp metallic clang, and turned her head to see if she had severed him. But he sat, perfectly upright on his horse, a faint blue glow blocking her tail midair. She growled in surprise, and bashed her tail again, at a different angle, and again, and again, but all of her blows never hit. She spun around, angrily, and lunged, her maw gaping.

((That's fine, I have times like that too.)) As the dragon attacked, Ellesiss smiled in delight but then frowned again as the knight was not getting injured. How could it be? After all, the dragon had amazing strength and even more amazing spikes.
Taking the opportunity of the dragons attack, Ellesiss brought out her sword and as the blade touched the fresh air flames and flashes burst from the blade. It was a glorious and ghastly sight at the same time. Pops came from the flames and snaps from the current, but she was more than used to it. Ellesiss smiled now. This was her favorite part.
She lunged at with all her might but same as the dragon she found that her attack was blocked. She tried again, but had the same results. Instead of being frightened as most would be, Ellesiss was pleased. 'Maybe this human will not be so hard to kill after all.'. Her movements were graceful as expected from an elf but she also had a hint of animal like movements in her swings and lunges. Unfortunately not one of them hit the target expected.
Taking a few steps back, Ellesiss tilted her head at the man. What was happening here?
