Tash walked into the bar, scoping out potential victims. Two guys sat in the corner, nursing ales with sour looks on their faces. They wont do, he thought, to unhappy. He turned to the left, and his sharp eyes resting on three men, forign looking. They were smiling and laughing at some joke. Perfect. He walked over there, and sat at the table next to them. He ordered an ale, and propped his feet up on the chipped oaken table, carefully listening to their conversation.
"Hahaha, yeah, I heard that his men actally to his sword right out of his scabbard!"
This brought about a fresh bout of laughter from them, though Tash had no idea who they were talking about.
"Ya know, I think I'm ready for another ale..." One of the men said as he flagged down the barmaid. While she went to get him a mug, the man turned to his buddies. "Now all we need to do is find ourselve a ship to take us to the other side of the peninsula."
At this comment, Tash smiled. He stood up, and walked casually to their table. "Excuse me gentlemen, but I couldn't help overhearing...you need a ship?" He gave them a slight smile, his whole manner friendly and open. The man that had been talking before gave him a suspicious look before he spoke. "Yes, we need to get to the other side of the peninsula. You have a ship?" The man raised his eyebrow and looked at Tash's slight frame, unable to believe that he had a ship. Tash did not let the look deter him. "I am first mate to the Horizon, a merchant ship restocking on supplies in this port. For a small price, we could take you to where you wanted to go." He gave another reassuring look and pulled up a chair, sitting down next to the men. "The Horizon eh? I saw that moored of shore before we came in. So your the first mate? You dont look much like one." The man's resolve was loosening, and inside, Tash was very excited. He almost had these guys.
"Yeah, I know I don't look like much, but I got an eye for buisness. And on a merchant ship, that's more important than skill with the sword. So what do you say? I can have you outa here by tomorrow morning."
The three men whispered a few minutes amung themselves, and their apparent ring-leader nodded his head and gave a slight smile to Tash. "Alright then, if we could leave tomorrow we'll go. How much?" He asked. "Well, it will cost you 50 gold each." The man's smile dissapearerd. "That's not fair, to high of a price!"
Tash replied smoothly, not skipping a beat. "I know it seems high, but this includes your meals for the entire trip, and plus, no other honest ship leaves for another week..." The men whispered again and again the man nodded. "Well, okay. We'll go. When does the ship leave?"
"Tomorrow at dawn. But I will have to collect your money now, so we can buy the extra supplies that we'll need for your meals and boarding." He had the men hooked now, and they each forked over 50 gold. Tash smiled, and stood up. "Thank you gentlemen, meet at dock 7 10 minutes before dawn, and I'll be there to greet you. A pleasure doing buisness with you." He bowed his head, and walked out of the bar, 150 gold in his pocket, and the knowlage that three men would arrive while it was still dark to the pirate ship Horizon.
