Name: Frada Kaelyn
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Sub-Race: Soldier, Spy, assassin.
Weapons: Frada has a sword with magical properties that allow it to move lighter and cut deeper than a normal sword in only her hands. Because of this magical property every time she draws it the blade slowly eats away at her energy, making her draw it only when she has no other choice.
She also has a flute that is well made and is carved too look like the wood is covered in the twisting of like vines. Her flute(which in any other hand would not play a sound) makes up for her lack of siren blood by instead of drawing people to their doom by singing, they are forced to see which they most fear. Because her power is from siren blood, she can only use the flute on humans and no other creature.
Both the sirens song and her flute work the same way but with herself her power works on both men and women but is stronger on men. The downfall to this attack is those who can overcome their greatest fear and attack her before she can switch her flute for sword.
Description:
Frada is very pretty for being a human and has long blond hair that is nearly always down. She has a thin, tall, yet athletic body but has a fragile look about her. Despite her being a human she has an air of magic around her that is much like an elf. Her eyes are a bright sea green/blue but like the rest of her face they have a habit of being with out emotion.
She wears a black leather tunic and trousers with many buckles and such. The clothes are very well made and rumor has it that the leather was founded from the skin of a dragon with a hide so tough that it lived without scales. Her boots are made of the same skin and have many buckles to keep them tightly on. She also wears a collar around her neck that matches the rest of the clothing.
Personality:
Frada was trained not to show any emotion on her face and she tries her hardest to do so but sometimes her emotions are her only way to communicate. She was also trained not to let any one know anything about her person life so there are many things about her self that she will hide, in fear of them being used against her.
What she hides is that she loves nature, particularly the sea, and that she could spend hours off somewhere secluded playing her flute to the sounds of wilderness around her. She also secretly has a soft heart that she is forced to hide away in order to fulfill her job.
No one would ever know that Frada does not like killing by the way she swings her sword without hesitation but she does.
Frada is very loyal to her job because she knows no other way to live than the one she does.
History:
Frada was born in a large family that left her as the only daughter when the rest were sons. They lived on a small farm that was very secluded in a healthy valley where few other people lived. The valley was on a very small island that is hidden by a mist to all those who travel by on boat.
Unlike the other loud spoken members of her family, Frada was born a mute. Her brothers always picked on her as a child, calling her an fruit that rotted before it was picked(in other word she was useless before she was even born).
Her father ignored her almost entirely saying that he could not marry off one who had no voice to answer to a husband. Because of being un suited to be wed her father saw her as an embarrassment and would not allow her to be seen by the other people of the valley, who had no idea that they even had a daughter.
Unlike the rest of the family, the mother of the Kaelyn family seemed to understand and was the only one that showed her love...until, that is, until strange things started happening.
The first happened when she was barley five. She was walking across a stream when the oldest of her brothers pushed her in. Frada was carried for miles but was found not a day latter perfectly fine. The matter was soon dismissed, deciding that it seemed that Frada had a talent for swimming. But that was not the end of it. Small minor thing started to happen to those who angered Frada, such as spiders being attracted to her brother who was very afraid of them.
As Frada grew any person in the same room as her suffered nightmares in their sleep, and although they were small nightmares at first they soon grew so terrifying that the family forced her to sleep outside in the wood sheds rafters.
Then it happened, but this problem was not the fault of Frada but her father. It seemed that he had stolen something from the wrong people and those people were very quick to gather information on the family from the others in the valley and attack the small house. They killed everyone in the house but were very surprised when they found a terrified little mute of a girl hiding in a wood shed.
One of them had rose a hand to slice off her head but it was abruptly stopped by the leader of the group.
Coming forward he bent down and saw something in her eyes he liked. Magic.
Frada was taken but was left unmissed by the rest of the valley who had no idea that she was even alive.
It seemed that far off in her mother family was the blood a siren who intermarried with a human and all the strange things that happened were caused by a build up of magic wanting to be released. It is not known why the power was alive only in her but it did not matter.
Under the leaders orders, Frada grew up under deep training. Training became the only life she knew and before Frada knew what happened she had the properties of a warrior, an assassin, a thief, and a spy forced into her. When she mastered these she was given a flute as a present. They had no idea if it worked but she was told that the leader himself insured that it was made to fit her powers.
Allot of the time this took no need for her to say a thing but when it did Frada was taught letters and took to writing her words onto paper.
It took years but eventual it was decided that her training was complete and Frada was sent from the island with a Crocotta their to be sure she did all they asked or that she did not become to attached to anyone.
Each time something was needed to be done a little blue glass bottle would somehow find a way into her hands with instruction on her next task. Sometimes they were brought by the hand of a well payed human but other times they simply appeared in the path she was walking.
She has not made home since she left the island to Tarantara and only travels till the next order comes to her. When she had first started traveling she came across an old man who told her that she had a voice but simply needed the right cause to release it. Unfortunately it was a man marked by the blue bottle and with much regret hidden inside, she killed him before he spoke another word.
Other: Frada is shadowed by Lurid, a Crocotta as mean as all the ancestors before it. For those who do not know a Crocotta (also called corocotta, crocuta, or yena) is a creature somewhere between a wolf and a dog. It has very strong teeth and instant digestion. It also has the ability to imitate voices to lure its prey to their doom. (For a better description I will wickipidia it and put the information at the bottom.) Luird is not by all means her friend of any kind but would not see her die either. It is his job to make sure Frada finishes tasks given to her and to punish her if they are not.
First Character? Nope. My first character is ShadowMask/Valerlanta
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crocotta: The crocotta (or corocotta, crocuta, or yena), is a mythical dog-wolf of India or Ethiopia, said to be a deadly enemy of men and dogs.
This beast was first written about by Pliny in his work Natural History (book VIII, chapter 30). He simply described the crocotta as a combination between dog and wolf with impossibly strong teeth and instant digestion. Other mythologies have described the crocotta as a gluttonous beast that digs up the buried dead and prowls around farms at night. It was said that the crocotta would lure dogs to their death by imitating the sound of a man in distress. When the dogs heard the cry they would follow the sound, only to be attacked and devoured. The beast was also said to occasionally hide in bushes at the edge of the forest listening to the farmers talking and calling each other by name. The crocotta would then repeat one of the names to lure the person into the woods. When the man approached, it would draw back into the brush and speak his name again. As the man followed, the creature would continue to draw deeper into the woods. When the victim was beyond help, the animal would leap upon him and devour him. Other legends ascribed the crocotta with the ability to change its color or gender at will. Some legends said that animals that attempted to stalk it would freeze in their own tracks. The eyes of a slain crocotta were said to be striped gems that would give the possessor oracular powers when placed under the tongue.
